Lefrançois was a French jeweler at the time of the French Revolution.

In September 1792, the French Crown Jewels were stolen.[1] Though most were recovered, three diamonds, including the French Blue, remained at large. One of the thieves visited Lefrançois' shop near Halle aux Grains and attempted to sell him one of the gems, though he refused to have anything to do with it. Lefrançois later recounted the encounter to the Assassin Arno Dorian, who dealt with the thieves and recovered the stolen items.[2]
