Lanz fell in love with a woman and they were to have a baby. However, the baby was a miscarriage and Lanz fell into a depression. He joined the Cento Occhi gang, "pushing men off buildings." Some time later, he had become the gang's leader.[2]
In 1503, he was visited by Fiora Cavazza, who came representing Cesare Borgia.
