Lamia is a figure in Greek mythology.
History[edit | edit source]
She had a son called Acheilos, who was transformed into a shark by the goddess Aphrodite.[1]
Legacy[edit | edit source]
By the time of the Peloponnesian War, the Daughters of Artemis had set up a village bearing Lamia's name within Pandora's Cove in Malis. Around the same time, a group of bandits had set up a camp bearing Lamia's name on the slopes of the Grand Mount Parnassos in Phokis.[2]
