Kroisos was a king of Lydia who was later immortalized in Greek mythology.
Influence
Long after his death, the stories of Kroisos and his wealth lived on, even as far as Kephallonia by the time of the Peloponnesian War, whether as dreaming of becoming rich [1], or describing someone who seems to be rich.[2]
