Kang was the Chinese Mentor of the Assassin Brotherhood, active during the 13th century.

At some point, Kang trained an officer of the army of the Song Dynasty. After his death during the siege of the Daioyu Fortress in 1259, he also trained the officer's daughter, the vengeful Zhang Zhi, to assassinate the Mongol invaders' leader, Möngke Khan.
