'''John Wilkes Booth''' (May 10, 1838 – April 26, 1865) was the man who plotted and executed the murder of President [[Abraham Lincoln]]. The reason for this murder was that Lincoln allowed voting rights to recently emancipated slaves, which Booth and co-conspirators did not appreciate. After he assassinated Lincoln, he fled, eventually reaching the Garrett farm. Here, he was shot fatally in the neck by Sergeant [[wikipedia:Boston Corbett|Boston Corbett]] and died three hours later. However, there have been theories that Booth faked his own death, and had fled to South America.
