Jeanne, a woman of Haitian Creole descent, was the wife of Philippe de Grandpré and the mother of the Assassin, Aveline de Grandpré. In 1759, she mysteriously disappeared after her daughter let go of her hand in the middle of New Orleans.
Sometime after her disappearance, Aveline traced her whereabouts to Chichen Itza, where she resided in a freed slaves' colony near a Mayan temple, she fled the encounter fearing for her life.
She would encounter her daughter again when Aveline would return to retrive the second part of a First Civilization Artifact, she did not flee this encounter deciding that if her daughter had come to end her life then she would accept this fate, Aveline explained that she did not want to kill her.
Jeanne remaind in Chichen Itza because she feels that New Orleans will never be safe and the colony in which she resides needed her
Trivia
- Before giving it to her daughter as a necklace, Jeanne was in possession of an amulet belonging to Those Who Came Before, which had the ability to open the entrance to the Grand Temple along with the use of an Apple. It is strikingly similar if not identical in appearance to the amulet that the Assassin, Ratonhnhaké:ton, took from the Templar, Charles Lee.
