Jawar was a blacksmith who operated a shop in the Harbiyah district of Baghdad. He was an ally to the Alamut Hidden Ones and the scholar Abu Jafar Muhammad ibn Musa. During the 860s, the Hidden One Basim Ibn Ishaq was asked by Abu Jafar to seek out Jawar about obtaining materials to upgrade his weapons.[1]
