Huginn and Muninn are the raven familiars of the god Odin in Norse mythology. They kept him informed of all the goings-on in the Nine Realms.[1]

During the Viking expansion into England, both Huginn and Muninn were made available to the shieldmaiden Eivor Varinsdottir of the Raven Clan as skins of Sýnin through an Animus modification by Layla Hassan, an Assassin who relieved her memories in 2020.[1]

Behind the scenes

The names of the birds derive from Old Norse; Huginn means 'thought' and Muninn means 'memory' or 'mind'.[2]
