The Fortress is owned by the Hospitalier faction of the crusaders, who use it as a hospital and military quarters. It is located at the north of the Poor District and is where Garnier de Naplouse both oversaw and experimented on patients, before being assassinated by Altair.
Building
The building is available to walk through. When the player first enters, there is a courtyard made out of stone, with a well in the center. The player can then go left or right and find many heavily guarded hospital beds, as well as a few wandering civilians. Some of the beds and operating tables contain corpses on them. Outside, a stone Catholic cross sits in front of the courtyard, overlooking some stairs. In the corner, there sits a pile of 5 dead bodies (with arrows through them) and a guard.
