The Helmet of Gorgophone was a helmet which had allegedly belonged to Gorgophone, a queen of Messenia and Sparta, as well as a daughter of Perseus in Greek mythology.
The helmet was later laid in a tomb in the depths of the Foundry of Hephaistos and was recovered by the Spartan misthios Kassandra during the Peloponnesian War at the behest of a mysterious woman.[1]

| Legend states that Gorgophone was the daughter of Perseus, mother and grandmother of many noted figures, and a foe of tradition. Like her, her helmet's ordinary appearance belies an inner strength. | ||||
Behind the scenes
The Helmet of Gorgophone, a headgear in Assassin's Creed: Odyssey, shares the same model as the commonly found Hoplite Helmet, another headgear in the same game.
