Hebontes (died 429 BCE) was a young Spartan man who lived in Lakonia, Greece during the 5th century BCE.

As part of his agoge, Hebontes was sent to the Spartan training territory with his companion Nikeratos to prove themselves. While there, they were attacked by wolves. Though Nikeratos survived, Hebontes was badly wounded, and succumbed to his injuries soon after.[1]

Trivia

  • The Greek word hēbōntes stands for the agoge students around the age of 20, when they became full members of the Spartan army.
  • Although Kassandra may interfere, despite Myrrine's objection, Hebontes will perish nonetheless.
