Alliance has a sort of cycle type feature with each team hunting and hiding from each other. This game mode resembles Wanted in the sense that while searching for your own targets, you must be wary of others searching for you. When playing Alliance, it would be wise for partners to split up, so they do not make easy targets. However, unlike Manhunt, your choices for escape are much more limited as you may end up compromising an easy kill.

Sourceless
Hiding in Plain Sight: Your team uses stealth to draw your opponents closer, therefore attracting your targets at the same time. Using smoke bombs and skills picked up in other games will be essential to making this work efficiently.

Bait: One team member blends somewhere such as a small crowd while the other attracts the attention of the other two teams. The baiter runs past their teammate, who uses smoke bombs and stuns the attackers while the baiter hunts any targets that revealed themselves in the confusion.

Stealth is not Overrated: Team members should avoid running around in plain sight to get the attention of both teams. Starting a chase and revealing the team hunting your position will probably cause you to get killed before you get to kill your target. Constantly getting low point kills will not help you win the game.

Most commonly used and effective Abilities: Disguise and Poison, Smoke Bomb and Poison, Charge and Smoke Bomb, and lastly Mute and Smoke Bomb.

Morph: If given an opportunity, morph the crowd and stay in its epicenter. Doing this provides significant cover while also giving the player an easy way to survey the map.

Stay off of roofs: Not only do they give your hunters clear sight of you, but those you are trying to kill are now given a chance to make distance from you and that will result in a lost kill(aka contract). Granted any of your pursuers would be easily seen coming after you and any suspicious behavior on the ground could be monitored, both could not be done at once.

Advanced Alliance
This mode is the same as basic Alliance, apart from the fact that the compass to locate targets is reduced in effectiveness, such as not being told whether a target is above or below you and adds a greater emphasis on stealth gameplay. It will force you to be more accurate and cautious in who you are hunting whilst evading the hunter looking for you.

A game of Alliance between Smugglers and Nobles.

Alliance was a co-operative, Multiplayer Game Mode used to train recruits in the primary stage of Abstergo Industries' Animi Training Program. In this mode, three teams of two competed against each other in a cycle-like manner in order to gain the most points and emerge victorious. Alliance sessions lasted 10 minutes, which were split into two rounds - very similar to that of Manhunt.

This game-type works on the basis of three teams; 1, 2, and 3. Each team is compromised of two players, both of whom are the same multiplayer characters. The game is separated into two rounds, much like Manhunt, and in each round the different teams will hunt different targets whilst being hunted by another team. The objective of Alliance is to assassinate your teams' targets by using teamwork and skill.[1]
Like many other multiplayer games, the player may choose a different 'Profile' once they have died or chosen to respawn once stunned. According to how the player decides to use their profiles and abilities, the game may end decisively for or against them. It's a game of wits and instincts as the teams hunt and hide at the same time, mixing the strategies of Manhunt with the ever-popular Wanted.[1]

"Advanced Alliance is a tougher test for players and rewards teams that use stealth techniques to hunt their targets."
―Ubisoft [2]
Intoduced in the first Animus Project Update, Advanced Alliance played out similarly to its basic counterpart, with the exception of the reduced effectiveness of the compass (it did not hint towards the target's elevation) which added a greater emphasis on stealth gameplay. [1]
