Hatshepsut (c. 1507 BCE – 1458 BCE), also known as Hatchepsut, was a pharaoh of Egypt during the Eighteenth Dynasty, and one of the first known female pharaohs. Her father Thutmose I reigned as the third pharaoh of the dynasty.
During her reign, conquests were put to a halt and Egypt received a cultural invigoration, with a focus on the production of delicate art and elegant temples.[1] She was also particularly known for building a temple on the west bank of the Nile across Thebes and near the Valley of the Kings.[2]
