The Gorgoneion Xiphos was a legendary xiphos obtained by the misthios Kassandra during the Peloponnesian War.
Inspired by the Gorgons, mythical creatures in Greek mythology, the xiphos was in the possession of the Hydra, the Sage of the Gods of the Aegean Sea branch of the Cult of Kosmos. Kassandra obtained the xiphos after eliminating the Hydra and his ship Hyperion in the Aegean Sea.[1]

Trivia
- Gorgoneion is a Greek decorative element used as an amulet to ward off evil, depicting the head of a Gorgon. It was a common element used in buildings, on shields and coin. True to this, the xiphos' guard depicted a face with snakes wrapped around it.
