Gilbert Higgins was a British citizen who lived in London in the Victorian era.

In 1868, Higgins was engaged to Prudence Browne. Over time, however, Browne developed affections for her doctor, Trevor Alton, and this became increasingly clear to Higgins. When he received a letter from his fiancée, relaying that she had something important to tell him, he suspected she wanted to break off the engagement.

However, Prudence never showed for her meeting the following morning, having been brutally murdered in a nearby park. Higgins was questioned by the Assassins Jacob and Evie Frye, who eventually deduced that Dr. Trevor Alton had been the culprit.
