Gerhild was a 9th century Anglo-Saxon woman from Hamtunscire, England.

Circa 870s, Gerhild was a farmer and was in an unhappy marriage with Ahlstan. One day while she was managing her crops, she became enraged at her husband's pet rabbits. Her complaints were heard by the Viking shieldmaiden Eivor Varinsdottir. Eivor assisted by killing all of the rabbits, only to hear her husband cry after seeing his pet rabbits dead. Conversely, Gerhild was gleeful at her husband's distress.[1]
