Genghis Khan (c. 1162 - 1227) was a Mongol warlord, born by the name of Temujin. He was born a simple farmer but quickly grew in the military ranks. As a conqueror, he managed to gain most of Asia's lands, which he reigned from 1206 until his death in 1227.
In the Assassin's Creed Universe, Genghis Khan was a Templar, which is suprising because Genghis Khan gave people in his lands considerable freedom, a trait generally associated with assassin leadership.
