Sir Gareth was a Knight of the Round Table who served in the court of his uncle King Arthur.
A member of the Pictish noble family which ruled the realm of Lothian, Gareth came to serve under Arthur, who is the half brother of his mother Queen Morgause.[1] At some point, Gareth was given a great sword, which he used to slay the Black Knight[2] during his quest to save Lyonesse, a young woman who eventually became his spouse.[1]
Centuries later, Gareth's sword eventually came into the possession of the monks at a monastery situated along River Rhine in Central Europe.[3]
