Fort of Plataia

The Fort of Plataia was the site of the city of Plataia, a polis in Boeotia, Greece. The city gave the name to the whole region, Ruins of Plataia.

After the Spartans captured Plataia in 427 BCE during the Peloponnesian War, they expelled its citizens and razed the city to the ground, and finally fortified its remains. The misthios Kassandra visited the fort during the war.[1]
