Alektryon is a figure in Greek mythology.

By the Peloponnesian War a location on a small island south of Naxos Island was named after him. Though apparently a fishermen's hut, by the time the Spartan misthios Kassandra reached it, the humans laid dead, and the place had become a den of chickens, led by a rooster.[1]
