Folkestone (Old English: Folcanstan), is a port town on the southern coast of Kent, England.
Circa 874, the Viking Eivor Varinsdottir of the Raven Clan met the Abbot of Cent Cynebert and the Hidden One Basim at the town, reporting the news of thegn Tedmund being chosen by King Aelfred to be the next ealdorman of Cent. The trio devised a plan to capture Tedmund such that Cynebert can fake a rescue and cause Tedmund's life to be indebted to him.[1]
