A falcon taking flight

Falcons are medium-sized predatory birds belonging to the Falco genus in the family of Falconidae. Falcons are found on most continents near meadows and other open areas that feature high vantage points nearby.

Unlike hawks and eagles, falcons kill their prey with their beaks instead of claws. Their diet mainly consists of rodents, reptiles, or insects.

History

During the 9th century, falcons were often found roaming the countryside of England. Viking shieldmaiden Eivor Varinsdottir encountered these falcons whilst on her travels through the lands and hunted them for their guts and hearts.[1]

In 2020, two Animus mods were made available to Layla Hassan to change the appearance of Eivor's raven Sýnin into a two types of falcon.[1]
