The Euripos Strait is a thin channel between the island of Euboea and Boeotia. The principal port along the strait is Chalkis City.[1]
During the Peloponnesian War, the construction on a bridge to facilitate travel across the channel was begun, but it was opposed by Theramenes the Athenian.[2]
