Etienne (fl. 1519) was a French apprentice to Leonardo da Vinci who lived with him in Amboise during the last year of the inventor's life.
Biography
After the elderly Leonardo became bedridden, Etienne was responsible with bringing him food, though his master would often refuse to eat and ask that the food be given to "a poor deserving soul in the street". Etienne was also known to steal from Leonardo's wine cellar, a fact which his master was fully aware of due to smelling it on his breath.[1]
