Ermina was an Anglo-Saxon woman from Glowecestrescire in the 9th century.
In the 870s, she was impregnated by a local man named Moccus, but neither one were married to each other. Feeling ashamed, she left Moccus and soon found herself in the wilderness, where she started to have labor pains. Soon, she was found by the Viking shieldmaiden Eivor Varinsdottir, who helped her to a nearby abandoned shrine to delivery the baby. Once the baby was born, Moccus found her and promised to be with her, despite any harm to his reputation.[1]
