The Engineer

The Engineer (real name: Gaspar de la Croix), previously known as the "Merchant", is a multiplayer character in Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood, whose assassination weapon of choice is a drafting Compass.

In Project Legacy, Gaspar is revealed to be a haunted man. When Fiora Cavazza is sent to pick up some of his inventions for Cesare, he asks her uncomfortable questions about death, aims an arquebuse at the civilians passing his window and disregards payment.

Trivia

  • "De la Croix" is French for "of the Cross." This is likely a reference to his Templar affiliation.
  • Before the launch of the Brotherhood Beta, he was referred to as "the Merchant."
  • According to his Database entry in Brotherhood, his profession is labeled as "Sniper".
