The Emperor was a privateer ship during the War of the Spanish Succession, captained by Alexander Dolzell up until January 1713.

During the fight, Dolzell disappeared in the sea and the majority of the crew was killed. The ship's lookout, Edward Kenway was then recruited into Thatch's crew.
