Domitia Paulina

                             Domitia Paulina was a wealthy Roman woman who lived in Cyrene, Cyrenaica during the 1st century BCE.

Around 47 BCE, her name was mentioned in a letter by a Roman Lanista, wherein she was stated to have paid 1000 drachmae for time alone with the gladiator Polymestor.

• Domitia shares her same name with a woman from Hispania, who would later become the mother of Roman Emperor Hadrian.
• Domitia is the feminine form of Domitius, which meant 'having been tamed' in Latin. Paulina is the female variation of the name Paulus, meaning 'the little'.
