Dobby's Altar

Dobby's Altar was an offering altar located west of Dalby Forest in Eurviscire, England.

During the 870s, the altar was visited by the Viking Eivor Varinsdottir, who made an offering of five pieces of fabric.[1]

Behind the scenes

The name of this altar and the fact that Eivor has to donate fabric, are a reference to Dobby from Harry Potter, a slave elf who could be freed by giving him clothes.
