Aigyptos was the twin brother of Danaos and the father of 50 sons in Greek mythology.

According to the stories, Danaos' daughters were supposed to marry Aigyptos' sons. As a wedding present from their father, each of Danaos' daughters received a dagger, and a command to kill their husbands. All but Hypermnestra obeyed, and a shrine for the 49 slain sons was set up in Argos, Argolis.[1]
