"There is courage in compromise."
Scion of the powerful Tahirid family, Muhammad was the latest of their sons to serve as the Governor of Baghdad. A scholar and a poet, his aristocratic languor masked a shrewd political mind. Well-respected, well-informed and well-used to putting out fires, Muhammad was keen to keep peace and order in an increasingly unstable Caliphate.
