Montreal is the second largest city in Canada and home of the nefarious Abstergo Entertainment Headquarters, controlled by the modern day Templars.
The Templar forces first seized control of the city's port and later expanded to various different sectors it was the Assassin Connor who in 1775 sent his apprentices to investigate, but they failed in their mission, as the Templar forces were already too strong for them to attempt sabotage.
A journalist named Ludger Duvernay, who was an undercover Assassin, posted several articles that accused the Canadian administration of being corrupted by the Templars. Ludger was quickly arrested and imprisoned, but was later freed by his Assassin brothers.
Over the years, Abstergo managed to take deep roots in the city, up to a point there nobody could stop them anymore, thus slowly turning Montreal into the capital of Templar power.
