Dantos was a Greek farmer who lived during the 5th century BCE.
Husband to Anais, an old friend of the misthios Kassandra, and father to Arion, he lived with his family on a farm in Arkadia near the Forest of Soron. When Spartan military recruiters came, he was conscripted into the army. He eventually lost his life during a battle, leaving behind a grieving wife and son.[1]
At one time, Dantos snapped his finger whilst working the fields. It healed, but crooked. When his son asked him how he got the injury, Dantos always told him that Arion was so strong as a baby, he snapped it like a twig.[2]
