The Committee of Public Safety was the de facto executive government of France during the Reign of Terror.

Created by the National Convention in March 1793, the Templar and leading Jacobin Maximilien de Robespierre joined the committtee along with Louis Antoine de Saint-Just following the fall of the Girondists.
