Claude Perrault (25 September 1613 – 9 October 1688) was a French architect, best known for helping design the east façade of the Louvre.[1]

Perrault was also responsible for the plans of the Paris Observatory, taking care to exclude both iron, to not disturb the compass needles, and wood, to prevent fires.[2]
