Clare Market was an area in London, United Kingdom during the Victorian era.
The area around Clare Market was spared by the Great Fire of London in 1666, and several Elizabethan buildings could still be found here. The Blighters, operating under Victor Lynch, took the area near the food market for themselves, and used it to establish one of their two strongholds in the Strand.
In 1868, the Assassins Jacob and Evie Frye arrived in London and started their attempt to liberate the city from the Templars. Following a lead provided by Henry Green, the Frye twins infiltrated the stronghold and cleared it of the Blighters present. Immediately after, the Rooks took refuge in the stronghold, claiming it as their own.
