Ciltern Hills, now known as Chiltern Hills, are green peaceful hills located northwest of London. Named for the Brittonic Cilternsaete tribe, it once held a substantial Roman presence. Historian Shaun Hastings summered there as a young man.[1]
By the 870s, the Hills were home to Cyne Belle Castle.[2]
