Chad was a 9th century Anglo-Saxon man from Jorvik, Eurvicscire.
In the 870s, Chad was hired by the Norseman Burk, who later blinded him after accusing the man of stealing his goods. With is vision gone, Chad soon became stranded below a bridge. Luckily, the Viking Eivor Varinsdottir of the Raven Clan heard his pleas for help and carried him to the bridge's top. There, they were met by Burk and two of his men. When they seized Chad to try force him back to work, Eivor slew them to save his life.[1]
