Kassandra wielding the Ceremonial Scythe

The Ceremonial Scythe was a scythe made and used in Greece during the 5th century BCE. Reserved for religious rituals, the scythe was not meant for hewing down wheat.

During the Peloponnesian War, the Spartan misthios Kassandra commonly found this weapon in the inventories of blacksmiths and looted it from bodies and chests during her travels throughout Greece.[1]
