Ceremonial Axe

The Ceremonial Axe was a battleaxe adorned with ritualistic iconography and meant for ceremonies more than battle.

Despite its intended purpose, it was still wielded as a weapon during the Peloponnesian War, and was widely found within the inventories of blacksmiths.[1]

Description
Adorned with ritualistic iconography, this is not so much a battle axe, but a conductor of ceremonies.

Behind the scenes

The Ceremonial Axe in Assassin's Creed: Odyssey shares the same model as a number of other similar axes in the same game, including the Black Axe. These are all recycled models of the Mushussu, a weapon in Assassin's Creed: Origins, which itself was based on a type of axe called "gazelle-headed axe" from the Mughal Empire in the Indian subcontinent. Its appearance in both games is anachronistic.
