During the Golden Age of Piracy many capuchin monkeys could be found in the Bahamas, foraging in the lush jungle parts of the area, including Misteriosa, Tulum, and New Bone. Pirate Edward Kenway often hunted capuchin monkeys for their pelts.[1]
