It was available for purchase from a blacksmith for 6,400 florins during the 15th century in various cities, and for 5,000 florins in the 16th century in Rome. It could also be purchased for 5,750 akce in Constantinople.
Agile guards and La Volpe had also been known to use this short blade as a weapon.
