At the time that [[Assassin's Creed]] takes place the city has recently been occupied by the forces of [[Richard The Lionheart]] after his army took the city from the formerly occupying muslim army. It is from this point that the Christian crusaders are launching further attacks into the Holy Land and as such the city is mainly influenced by western European culture and full of Christian guards.
