The Italian Assassins' Mentor Ezio Auditore sent an Assassin team to meet the abbot and ask for his assistance in their ambush of the mercenaries. Bernardino offered every resource he had available. With their ambush successful, Bernardino was safe and continued to send information from Camerino to the Assassins.[1]
