The Battos' Bow was a rare warrior bow which was said to have belonged to Battus I of Cyrene, the founder of the city and the colony of Kyrenaika.
According to legend, Battus was said to have fired an arrow using the bow which pierced the heavens on the day of the city's founding. After Battus' death, the bow was buried alongside him in a tomb built in Cyrene.[1]
Years later in 47 BCE, Battos' tomb was desecrated by Cassius Albus, a Roman centurion, who tooked the bow and a medallion belonging to Battus to the acropolis above the tomb. The Medjay Bayek of Siwa later infiltrated the acropolis and claimed the bow for himself.[2]
