The Templar Agent impersonating Barnabas.

The unnamed agent employed by Armand Bouchart, Grand Master of the Templar Order, was Bouchart's best man and a covert agent specialized in espionage and assassination. He was stealthy, an incredibly fast killer, and a spy who was able to easily escape from Altaïr Ibn-La'Ahad not once, but even twice. He wore his Order uniform most of the time, and usually hid his face.

His mission was to infiltrate and sabotage the Cypriot resistance. He successfully killed Barnabas and impersonated him. Under this disguise, he misled Altaïr, whom he manipulated to kill Jonas. Later, he met Altaïr again and killed an important person whom Altaïr had intended to interrogate. In the end, he killed Alexander, the leader of the resistance, and prepared a trap for Altaïr near the entrance to the Templar Archive.

There he, previously masked, revealed that he had been the one posing as Barnabas. He was sure that he would kill Altaïr, but ended up being stabbed from behind by Maria Thorpe before their fight could even begin.

Trivia

  • He is the only major enemy who isn't killed by Altaïr, but by an ally (Maria).
  • His true name is unknown. When asked, he replies, "What did I tell you in Kyrenia? Was it... Barnabas?"
