Baqet was an Egyptian merchant who, along with several other merchants, sold false religious icons in the market of Yamu.
His and the merchants' actions sullied the reputation of the Festival of Sekhmet and Second Priest of Sekhmet, Menehet, who dispatched the Medjay Bayek to investigate. When questioned by the Medjay, Baqet explained he was forced to sell items of less quality or risk having his stall destroyed and invited Bayek to meet him in his hut near the village at night.
However, Baqet had no intention of helping Bayek in his investigation and instead set up and ambush with a group of bandits to eliminate him. Bayek however easily eliminated the bandits, causing Baqet to reveal the origins of his items: a bandit hideout in the dunes.
