He is the Merchant King of Damascus and the richest man in the city. Abul is known for throwing lavish parties, and surrounding himself with riches and works of art. He despises the poor with a passion and believes they are responsible for everything that's wrong with the world; however, he also despises himself for being "different" (it is implied that Abul is a homosexual). Abul is rarely seen in public, usually only to deliver a speech before one of his parties. Of course, this provided the perfect window of opportunity to get close to the man.

Description

Abul Nuqoud is a very large, rotund, and wealthy man. He is a lavished merchant king of the city of Damascus. He decorates his home with the fines decor, and feasts upon only the finest of foods.

However, Abul has great disdain for the poor citizens of the city. He sees them as nothing more than a source of all the crime, disease, and other poor things in the world. With that, he takes perverse pleasure from seeing them die painful deaths. He is also incredibly self centered, and loves nothing more than to show off his generosity to the people of Damascus.

Death

When Altiar seeks out Abu'l, the king decides to throw a lavish party at his palace for the people of the city. After the guests have settled down, Abul makes a toast to their generosity, then proceeds to lambaste them for their hatred and hypocrisy in supporting Saladin. It is revealed that he has poisoned the wine to get revenge on the people who tormented him with their cruel words and bigotry, and he orders his men to kill anyone who tries to escape.

When Altair attempts to assassinate him he flees, running strangely fast for a man so fat. Ultimately, Altair catches him and ends his life. In his dying speech, Abul says that he did not join up with the Templars for revenge, but to create a new, better world instead of pretending to follow a god who called him an abomination.
