You're not being pedantic. I've left novels and comics as they are because we do not have articles for each and every chapter/issue/page. If we're using a novella as a source in a quote, the template dictates that we can only link to the article about the novella. If we're citing within the article, there's no reason why we cannot, for example, format our source as follows:
<ref name="Underworld-p256">''[[Assassin's Creed: Underworld]], p256 - ''"And Henry stood over his victim blah, blah, blah."''</ref>
Actually quoting the line might be a tad excessive, but it would certainly help stiffle any edit wars.
